Spaces shaped by
light, air, and season
Terrene Co designs interiors that work with Malaysia's climate — not against it. From a first consultation to a fully realised space, we move at a pace that suits you.

Why Terrene Co
Designed for how Malaysians actually live
Our work begins with the observation that most interior design ignores local conditions. We pay attention to the way afternoon rain changes how a room feels, how monsoon humidity affects material choices, and how indoor-outdoor boundaries shift through the year.
Explore Our ApproachClimate-Aware Materials
Every material recommendation considers humidity, airflow, and the way natural light shifts across the day.
Spatial Honesty
We work with the space you have — its limitations as much as its possibilities. No padding, no over-promising.
Unhurried Process
We move at a pace that lets good decisions develop. Structured feedback, clear timelines, no pressure.
Local Knowledge
Sourcing, contractor networks, and material suppliers across Kuala Lumpur — built over years of practice here.

Common Questions
Things people often ask
Where do you work, and do you travel outside KL?
Our studio is in Kuala Lumpur and most of our projects are within the Klang Valley. For spaces outside this area, we're open to discussing how we can structure the work sensibly — reach out and we'll be straightforward about what's feasible.
Do I need to have a renovation contractor already?
Not at all. If you're on the Season-Through Support service, contractor coordination is included. For other services, we can suggest contractors we've worked with, though you're free to engage anyone you're comfortable with.
How does the Climate Consultation differ from a full design service?
The Climate Consultation is a standalone assessment — it gives you a clear picture of your space and its potential without committing to a full redesign. Many clients use it as a first step before deciding on a larger scope. It also works well as an independent review if you already have ideas and want a second perspective.
How long does a full project typically take?
The Full Atmosphere Design phase runs 5–9 weeks depending on the scope and how quickly decisions are made. If you add Season-Through Support, the implementation period is a further 8–14 weeks. We build timelines that can accommodate the unexpected — particularly useful in a city where material delivery and contractor availability can shift.
Can I start with just the consultation and expand later?
Yes, absolutely. Each service is designed to stand on its own but they also build on one another. Starting with a consultation means any subsequent design work begins with a solid, considered foundation — which tends to make the whole process smoother for everyone.
What information should I prepare before contacting you?
Nothing specific is required. A rough sense of the space (floor plan sketches, photos, or just a description), any budget considerations you'd like to share, and what you're hoping to change are all helpful — but we can also work through all of this in an initial conversation. There's no need to have everything figured out before reaching out.
