2. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing this website or engaging our services, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement. If you are engaging on behalf of a company or other legal entity, you confirm that you have the authority to bind that entity to these terms.
3. Services
Terrene Co provides interior design services for residential and hospitality spaces in Malaysia. The specific scope, deliverables, timeline, and pricing for each engagement are set out in the relevant service description and confirmed in writing before work begins. Services are subject to availability and to Terrene Co's assessment of whether the project is one we are able to serve well.
All services are currently available to clients located within Malaysia. Requests from clients based outside Malaysia will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
4. Pricing and Payment
Service fees are stated in Malaysian Ringgit (MYR). Published prices are current at the time of listing and may change without notice — the price applicable to any engagement is that agreed in writing before the project begins.
Payment terms are confirmed in writing before work commences. For most services, a deposit is required to confirm the booking, with the balance due on a schedule agreed at the start of the engagement.
Late payment may result in a pause to scheduled project work. We reserve the right to charge interest on overdue amounts in accordance with applicable Malaysian law.
5. Service-Specific Terms
Climate Consultation
This service includes one site visit and the delivery of a written assessment within the stated timeframe from the date of the visit. The fee covers the site visit, assessment, mood references document, and one follow-up call. Additional site visits or extended follow-up are not included.
Full Atmosphere Design
This service covers the design phase as described in the service specification. Two structured feedback rounds are included. Additional rounds of revision beyond the agreed scope may be subject to additional fees, which will be discussed and agreed before proceeding. Contractor coordination and implementation management are not included in this service.
Season-Through Support
This service covers project management during the implementation phase. It does not include the creation of design documentation unless this has been separately agreed. The scope presumes that an approved design exists before the service commences. The duration reflects a typical range — actual duration depends on the contractor's timeline and the scope of the renovation.
6. Intellectual Property
All design work, drawings, specifications, visualisations, and documentation produced by Terrene Co remain the intellectual property of Terrene Co until full payment has been received. Upon receipt of full payment, Terrene Co grants the client a non-exclusive licence to use the delivered documentation for the specific project for which it was created.
Clients may not reproduce, distribute, or use Terrene Co materials for other projects without express written consent. We retain the right to include completed projects in our portfolio and promotional materials, subject to client approval.
7. Client Responsibilities
The client is responsible for:
- Providing accurate information about the property and project requirements
- Providing timely access to the property for site visits and inspections
- Providing feedback during review rounds within the agreed timeframe
- Ensuring appropriate permissions and approvals are in place for any planned work (including from building management, landlords, or relevant authorities)
- Engaging and managing contractors directly (except where Season-Through Support has been engaged)
8. Disclaimers
Terrene Co provides design services based on professional judgment and experience. Design recommendations are made in good faith but we cannot warrant specific outcomes or results following implementation, particularly where contractors, materials, or conditions differ from those specified.
Information on this website is provided for general reference purposes. It does not constitute professional advice for any specific project without a formal engagement.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted under Malaysian law, Terrene Co's liability to any client in connection with a project is limited to the fees paid by that client for the relevant service. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or special losses, including losses arising from contractor performance, delays, or materials sourced independently by the client.
10. Confidentiality
We treat all client project information, including property details, design preferences, and financial information, as confidential. We will not share project details or photographs with third parties without explicit client consent, except where required by law.
11. Cancellation and Termination
Either party may terminate a project engagement with written notice. If the client terminates a project after a deposit has been paid, the deposit is non-refundable as it covers time and resources already committed. Work completed up to the point of termination remains chargeable. If Terrene Co terminates an engagement, fees paid for work not yet delivered will be refunded.
12. Dispute Resolution
These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. In the event of a dispute, both parties agree to first attempt resolution through good-faith discussion. If this does not resolve the matter, the dispute shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The updated version will be published on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the website or engagement of services after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
